I’ve loved Jessica Pavone’s work for a long time, so it’s a supreme pleasure that she’s my guest on today’s episode of Sound Off. Her new album Clamor isn’t out yet, so you’ll hear sneak peak exclusive excerpts before the album drops Oct. 6. Go listen to it now! It’s phenomenal. The album, which features string ensemble and bassoon, includes works inspired by women’s inventions created out of a desire to circumvent the limitations to their freedoms. That includes a 17th century Korean invention called the including the See Saw, created by women to peek beyond the walls of their homes even though they weren’t allowed to leave.
